Notre Dame Gallery Exhibitions
In an effort to engage the arts community in the fight to save the Notre Dame des Canadiens church,
the SNDA held an art contest "Show us Your Notre Dame". 70 people submitted over 100 pieces of art across all medias.
Jurors chose nine adult and three youth works for awards of $250 each. The winners were chosen from the 100 eligible entries. The jurors were: Juliet Feibel of ArtsWorcester; Luis Fraire of the Sprinkler Factory; Honee Hess of the Worcester Center for Crafts; and Jim Welu, former director of the Worcester Art Museum.
Two public showings of the collected work happened at the Worcester Pop-Up and the Sprinkler Factory in July and August of 2018. Many of the artist were on hand to discuss their work as well as former members of the Notre Dame des Canadiens community.
The SNDA would like to thank the artists that submitted their work on behalf of our efforts and wish them well in their continued creation for the Worcester community.
Show #1 was held Saturday, July 21 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Worcester PopUp Gallery.
The artwork hung in the gallery until Wednesday, July 25. To see photos from the show go here.
Show #2 was held Saturday, August 4 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sprinkler Factory, in Gallery 3.
